Armed robber burnt in Kumasi
A suspected robber in his mid 20s has been cruelly burnt to death after an unsuccessful robbery operation on Saturday dawn.
The deceased, name not known, reportedly tried to break into a house at Kromoase, near Agric Nzema in Kumasi to rob the inhabitants.
Reports suggested that the robber’s action during that unholy hour was eventually uncovered by some residents in the neighbourhood.
The suspect, who was said to be wielding a locally manufactured pistol, was overpowered by an angry mob who subjected him to severe beatings.
The alleged robber reportedly became very weak as his constant cry for leniency was swiftly ignored by his blood-thirsty attackers.
The mob dumped the body in a gutter in the area, poured petrol on him and set him on fire, resulting in his death.
Some residents in the area that spoke to the media said they were petrified to see the charred body of the alleged robber in the gutter in the morning.
According to them, the armed robber, who had a locally manufactured pistol, doesn’t live in the area.
They claimed the young robber lives in a different area in Kumasi and decided to storm Kromoase to rob people.
